Signs & Lava
SIGNS & LAVA has been active since 1998 in the fields of architectural applications and high-end signage. Distributor of the renowned French company Pyrolave, we represent in the territory of Greece and Cyprus the unique natural volcanic stone andesite, in its three treatments: natural lava, enamelled and printed.
Since 2017, in order to serve more widely the needs of marking and decoration, we introduced Stratimage HPL laminate, also produced in France.
Both materials offer exclusive and personalized solutions. With unique resistance properties, they guarantee applications of superior quality, extreme durability and with a high aesthetic value.
Lava
The lava is extracted from the inactive volcano of Volvic in the heart of France and then processed at the Pyrolave facility near Toulouse. It is cut into slabs or solid volumes with digital technology, then coated with enamel by experienced craftsmen and fired in kilns to vitrify the enamelled surface. Through screen printing and digital printing, it is also possible to print graphic compositions on the glazed surface.
Natural Lava Andesite is a 100% natural stone and a traditional building material in central France. It is used in wall coverings, floors, fireplaces as well as for special decorative elements, such as door and window frames.
Glazed Lava Glazed lava combines the solidity of the natural volcanic rock with the durability and charm of the enamel. With the characteristic craquelle on its surface, it offers an unlimited color range, in a matte or glossy finish.
Printed Lava The specialized know-how of printing on enamelled lava offers signage and decoration solutions, with unbeatable durability properties and a 0 fire rating class.
Stratimage®
Stratimage is a bespoke and extremely resistant and durable HPL laminate, offering high-resolution digital renderings, tailored to the unique requirements of each project. It is suitable for signage applications, furniture construction as well as indoor or outdoor cladding interventions and comes with a 10-year written color stability warranty.

Volvic lava
Pyrolave's base is andesite, a 100% natural volcanic rock from the lava flows of the Auvergne Volcanoes National Park in Volvic, central France. By tradition in local architecture, Volvic lava was used extensively in its raw form for iconic structures such as cathedrals, municipal buildings and public spaces. Born from fire, harder than marble and with its characteristic warm gray color, natural lava is still used today in linings, floors, fireplaces, urban equipment as well as for sculptures or special decorative elements, such as door and window frames.
French craftsmanship
The inherent strength of Volvic lava makes it an ideal base for the process of enamelling, a technique that finds its origins in France at the beginning of the 19th century. From Pyrolave's quarries, the lava is extracted and gradually transformed, through a series of mechanical, digital and manual processes, to finally shape each unique order.

Properties & Resistances
Characteristics of Pyrolave are the excellent resistance properties and the rich aesthetics of the enamelling, with the unique surface craquelle, different from color to color, which with the light reflections gives a special presence to each application. Suitable for indoor and outdoor spaces, with easy maintenance and a very long life, Pyrolave offers infinite design solutions in high specification and demanding applications.
