Enamelled Gres

Gres is artificially extruded stoneware with very high resistance qualities. It is produced in tiles and has conventionally been used mainly for external cladding in building façades and for floor tiling. With the supplementary printing technique the material obtains a new dimension, allowing numerous applications for indoor and outdoor signage and transforming floors and façades in unique artistic statements.

The tiles are available in 6 or 8mm thickness depending on size, with a maximum dimension of 892X1194mm per piece and with the possibility to obtain different shapes with the use of water jet cutting. All gres tiles used for signage have a white colour enamelled fondo and a straight cut edge.

With the use of fire resistant enamels and the technique of silk screen printing, it is possible to print on the enamelled surface of the tiles any desired graphic composition. This process is entirely manual and allows the production of texts, maps and images in one or more colours, all the way up to four colour process quadrichromy. The decorated gres tiles are fired in special kilns for about 10 hours at 850o C.

Enamelled GRES offers:

  • 10 year color resistance warranty
  • 30 year life expectancy or more of printed surfaces
  • 100% resistance to physical agents (sun, snow, humidity, salty sea breeze)
  • 100% resistant to cleaning liquids
  • Anti-graffiti properties (can be easily cleaned)
